Elise Johnson
With a decade of communications experience, Elise is known for her ability to get to the heart of complex concepts and package them in ways that resonate with the right people. An idea machine, she brings strategic, creative thinking to every project she touches and has expertise in communications strategy, storytelling, messaging, brand development, knowledge translation and stakeholder relations.
Top-notch critical thinking skills are her secret weapon. She dives deep with clients to understand their business, objectives and audiences and puts together strategies, content and stakeholder engagement programs that feel as though they were developed in house. A people-person through and through, she loves working collaboratively with diverse groups to identify and overcome hurdles, building trust and enthusiasm along the way.
Starting out as a copywriter for a major Canadian brand, Elise has expanded her communications portfolio by taking on progressively senior roles in a wide range of sectors from public to private to non-profit. Health has become her wheelhouse, with experience in all levels of Canada’s health care system. She has worked with pan-Canadian knowledge mobilization networks, Ontario-based health care and health research organizations and associations, and local family health teams and providers.
She holds a Master of Professional Communication degree from Ryerson University and a Bachelor of Humanities degree from Carleton University.
